electric bikes Glasgow | Philip Lang Cycles

Electric Bikes Glasgow. Philip Lang Cycles are official dealers for Batribike electric bicycles. Established in 1966 they are a family business based near the famous Barras Market in Glasgow. Why not pop along and see how easily electric bikes cope with hills and how much fun they are to ride.

City cycling

Cycling opportunities abound within the city of Glasgow. They include a cycle trail along the banks of the Clyde in the very heart of the city. Glasgow City Council is committed to improving cycling in the city and so has over 180 miles of cycle lanes of various types. 100 cycle racks a year have been installed every year since 2007. The Gamma in-frame battery electric bike with a crank motor and step through and crossbar styles is great for city riding.

Electric bikes are excellent for commuting or leisure, multi-level pedal assist allows the rider to choose how much assistance is given by the electric motor. Many riders choose a higher assistance for hills or high winds and then lower the assistance for the flat or when feeling fresh. Commuters may prefer to use the higher assistance to get to work feeling fresh.

Folding electric bikes can be an ideal accessory for many leisure activities such as motorhomes or boating. They can easily be folded to fit in the boot of a car. Batribike also offers an optional storage bag to keep your load space clean for when you have been splashing through the puddles!

National Cycle Route (NCR)

Glasgow to Kirkintilloch NCR 754. A flat, traffic-free cycle route from the busy city of Glasgow through surprisingly tranquil countryside to the canal-side town of Kirkintilloch. With a distance of 9 miles this traffic free path travels along beside the Forth and Clyde canal.
