ACT – The Association of Cycle Traders
ACT Member
The National Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) is the UK trade body committed to the specialist cycle retail sector.
ACT members have invested in business, skills, promotion and the development of the UK cycle market. All have met the criteria for ACT membership status.
Platinum Member
Platinum is the premium tier of ACT membership, indicating a high level of investment by the member in services and skills, helping to ensure that the best quality service is consistently achieved.
Cytech Accreditation
Cytech is the bicycle industry’s recognised training and accreditation scheme for cycle mechanics and technicians. Owned and run by the industry for the industry. Cycle shops displaying the Cytech accredited symbol employ technicians with a minimum of a Cytech Technical Level Two qualification or higher and are current full ACT Members.
Cytech accredited staff have undergone professional technical training and accreditation to recognised industry standards, achieving a number of practical and theory tests before qualification. Cytech courses encompass the basics of cycle mechanics right through to dealing with the most advanced and high-tech componentry and parts.
We have invested in training our staff to give them the skills they need to provide first class service. All our technical staff have Cytech qualifications and additionally are able to provide specific Batribike training to our dealers. Our Managing Director also holds Cytech certificates so as you can see, our commitment to quality and service is at the core of our business.
BAGB – Bicycle Association of Great Britain
In January 2015 BEBA merged with the Bicycle Association of Great Britain (BAGB) and a new Electric Bike Group was formed within the Association.
BATRIBIKE is a key member of this new Group, just as we were with BEBA. We are therefore able to continue to keep abreast of current Technical and Legislative requirements.
BEBA – The British Electric Bicycle Association
Batribike has been involved with BEBA since it first opened for Membership at the Cycle Show in Earls Court in 2009.
From 2010 until its merger with the BAGB in 2015 we were also involved in the running and organisation of the Association, such is our passion for Electric Bicycles.
As past Full Members of the Association, we still adhere to that original BEBA Code of Practice ensuring that our customers, both retail and trade, can rely on us for Quality and Service.
Certified to EN15194
For the past ten years Batribike has been at the forefront of promoting industry standards. It is important to have the bikes and components tested to a specific standard to prove their safety and quality.
The standard for the UK and EU is EN15194 and we are proud that all our bikes are certified to this standard
Companies Against Tampering
The Bicycle Association endorsde the CONEBI anti-tampering initiative “Companies against Tampering” in September 2021. Batribike signed in the first Europe-wide wave of companies to join this commitment. Tampering or over-riding settings for speed etc will void warranties.
WEEE and the Environment
At Batribike we take our commitment to the environment very seriously.
In line with environment Agency requirements we are registered with TRANSFORM, a compliance scheme operated by Biffa. Transform carries out our responsibilities to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regs. 2013 (WEEE).
Where possible we like to use local businesses for everyday business supplies and our folding bike bag is hand-made in the West Country specifically for us. We reuse packaging where possible and the rest is recycled.
UN38.3
All of our batteries are certified to UN38.3. This is a legal requirement for battery safety and charger compatibility to allow safe transportation.

ebiketips is a website dedicated to reviews, advice and promotion of electric bikes. Batribike is delighted to have been awarded 2 places in the ebiketips top 5 electric bikes at the London Bike Show 2017.
Cycling UK
Cycling UK, the national cycling charity, has championed the cause of cycling since 1878. It promotes all forms of cycling and protects the interests of existing and would-be cyclists. It inspires people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to discover the joys of cycling.
Sustrans
Sustrans is UK charity that works with families, communities, policy-makers and partner organisations so that people are able to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys, with better places and spaces to move through and live in.
Bike Week
Bike Week is an annual opportunity to promote cycling, and show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life by encouraging ‘everyday cycling for everyone’. Demonstrating the social, health and environmental benefits of cycling, the week aims to get people to give cycling a go all over the UK, whether this be for fun, as a means of getting around to work or school, the local shops or just to visit friends. Bike Week takes place in June each year.
As the biggest nationwide cycling event in the UK, Bike Week encourages over half a million people to join in events, rethink their everyday journeys and switch to cycling as the most convenient way to get around.
Batribike has regularly participated in the MP’s cycle ride through London to Westminster to mark Bike Week.
